Enid Woodward is an innovative practitioner of the healing arts with more than thirty years of
experience in dance, physical therapy, subtle energy work and embodied awakening practices.
Enid holds an M.S. in Physical Therapy from Columbia University's College of Physicians and
Surgeons. She has evaluated and developed treatment programs for clients with back pain,
cervical and upper quarter dysfunction, repetitive strain injury, lower-quarter injury, joint
replacement, neuromuscular disorders and cardiopulmonary disorders. Her extensive
background in movement includes a B.A. in Dance from the University of California at Irvine and
an M.F.A. in Dance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
Enid discovered WisdomBody through work with actors, dancers and musical artists. To access
deeper and subtler levels of injury, illness, trauma and conditioning, she looked beyond western
medical models to spiritual and indigenous traditions for ways to restore wholeness.
Enid has studied and practiced in the Theravada, Tibetan Buddhist and Dzogchen traditions
with Charles Genoud, Lama Willa Miller, Lama John Makransky, Lama Surya Das and His
Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa. She is a founding member of Vimalakirti Buddhist
Center in New York City and Charles Genoud's Gesture of Awareness NYC experiment group,
as well as a member of Templo Guaracy de New York, an Afro-Brazilian temple of Umbanda. |
